The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) helps companies create U.S. jobs through the export of U.S. goods and services for priority infrastructure projects in emerging economies. USTDA links U.S. businesses to export opportunities by funding project preparation and partnership building activities that develop sustainable infrastructure and foster economic growth in partner countries.

 

Coalition for Healthcare Infrastructure in Africa: In December 2022, in response to significant demand, USTDA launched the Coalition for Healthcare Infrastructure in Africa. The Coalition is a collaboration between USTDA and U.S. industry to help meet the healthcare needs of our African partners and to increase access to quality healthcare products and services for millions of individuals across the continent. USTDA uses its full suite of tools for project preparation and partnership-building activities to define technical requirements and attract financing for priority healthcare infrastructure projects.  It will focus on the following areas: 

  • Resilient healthcare and cross-cutting sector infrastructure, including electrification and connectivity; 
  • Accessible and effective infrastructure for delivery of healthcare services that can improve health equity and security; and
  • Enabling environments, including strengthened individual country regulatory frameworks and continental regulatory convergence
